Amy stood stiffly, fidgeting nervously.
Even though her days working for Chase Darwin, she had never truly interacted with him for more than a few seconds. She mostly tended to the mistress of the mansion, Mirabel Darwin, his wife.
Hence, now that she stood before him, and Spencer, her nerves were acting up.
“Tell me about the day you went shopping with my wife. Every single detail of it.” Chase ordered, from where he reclined on the swivel chair.
“I… hadn't wanted to go, but Mrs. Darwin insisted. She was lonely, and needed some company—”
“No one asked you that.” Spencer was the one who cut in. “Give the boss the step-by-step rundown of everything that happened that day. Now.”
She swallowed, nodding frantically. Sweat rolled down her back within her dress. She told him all she could remember.
