Days passed, each one heavy with the weight of the revelation Natalia had dropped on Emma. Cassandra's urgency to find her sister had all blurred against the sharp clarity of the visions Natalia had shown her.
Emma withdrew into herself, like a turtle retreating into its shell. Samantha and Cassandra tried, they really did, but it felt like speaking through a thick fog. Their words reached her, but they didn't penetrate the fog that clouded her mind.
She'd sit for hours, staring at nothing in particular, lost in a maze of thoughts. Questions looped endlessly in her mind like a broken record. Werewolf? Me? How was that possible? And those visions... they felt so real, so vivid. She didn't want to believe them, didn't want to accept the implications.
