"And where is Anastasia now?" She pressed further.
He averted his eyes, a pang of guilt shadowing his features. "I only had one chance to escape... I wasn't swift enough to get her."
Typical Marcus, always prioritizing himself, she thought, feeling a swell of frustration at his apparent self-absorption. "Of course, you only care about yourself. You've always been like this," she retorted, shaking her head in disapproval.
