Warren pulled away from the gentle kiss, giving me a crooked smile. He smoothed my hair. “Nic will be here soon. Come on, I’ll help you get cleaned up.”
I was grateful he was taking the lead. I’d come so many times by this point, I honestly didn’t know if it was possible to do so again. A human just couldn’t handle this lifestyle, not do so and survive, anyway. If they insisted on being with me like this, I needed to make rules.
