DARIUS’ P.O.V.
I hated feeling helpless. Ever since my parents died and there was nothing I could do about it, I made a promise to myself that I would never put myself in that position. I kept that promise for sixteen years but in one day, Faye had ruined it. Seeing Ian walk out with Leindra in his arms looking bruised and broken threatened to wreck me from the inside out. If Faye had any chances for redemption, they were ruined by that singular action.
I knew that she was safe within her room but I couldn’t help but feel anxious. I wanted to see her, I wanted to know that she was safe. I knew she was angry with me but I was willing to take her anger as long as it meant she was safe. I would take her insults over looking at her dead body.
