Tristan felt the tension rising within him, and he was worried that he might be unable to control himself and end up doing something to Genevieve.
As he opened the door, a fake, insincere smile immediately appeared in front of him.
He frowned in disdain. "What's with you?"
Genevieve eagerly handed him a glass of water.
Now that forceful tactics didn't work with him, she decided to try a softer approach.
Showing no interest, Tristan leaned back against the headboard and lit a cigarette.
Genevieve followed suit, smiling. "Mr. Burtman, you must be thirsty. Have some water."
"There's no need for that." Tristan snorted coldly, casting a glance at her forced smile.
She was nothing like that other person. That other person would never have smiled at him so insincerely.
Suppressing her awkwardness, Genevieve set the glass down on the bedside table.
Just as she sat beside him, she caught the cold, disdainful look he shot her.
