Chapter 2 You're A Slut

"What are you doing here?" Alexander's voice was low. It carried an edge of dominance. Scarlett's heart accelerated with the highest speed. Although, Alexander Wilson was the owner of the entertainment company that signed her five years ago. Still, she had never had the chance to encounter him. Moreover, in five years, she heard a lot of stories of his ruthlessness, forcing her to keep a low profile. Now she was facing him for the first time. A chill ran down her spine, but she was determined not to show him her nervousness. Her voice wavered slightly, betraying her fear. Still, she managed to maintain her calm and resonant composure. "My grandmother, s...she is inside. I need to see her," Scarlett replied, swallowing her breath. "I don't care why you are here but my company has rules," Alexander said through his gritted teeth. His tone was mixed with mockery. Seeing that, Scarlett's fear was mingled with anger. This man just cares about his company. The next moment, she took a deep breath. Her voice was trembling with suppressed rage. "Mr. Wilson, let me repeat this for you again. My grandma is inside," she said while trying to lower her voice. "I thought you might understand but it seems like, all you care about is your precious company." When Alexander heard her words, he raised his left eyebrow, daring her to speak any further. "And why should I think about anything else?" That time he rested his hands in the pocket of his pants. Meanwhile, Scarlett was short of words. All she wanted was to vanish from there. "Please just let me in. I won't trouble you." "Trouble? You're already causing it," he snapped, pointing towards the journalists who were getting blocked by his security guards. "I didn't..." Before she could complete her words, he removed his shoes from the locker and kicked them towards her. Scarlett instantly picked it up and opened her mouth, but Alexander showed her his palm. "Now go back from here. I don't want any scandal," Alexander said, turning to leave. Beads of sweat covered her forehead. "Wait," Scarlett called out to him. "I promise, no one will know about my presence." Alexander rubbed the back of his neck and didn't turn around. "You will do as I say." Then he turned around and looked straight into her eyes. "Otherwise I won't be responsible for the consequences." "Mr. Wilson," Scarlett took a deep breath and continued, "My grandma is all I have left." The moment Alexander heard that there was a mocking smile on his face. "You mean Ms. Johansson?" He took a step forward and bent towards her ears. His cold lips were almost touching the end of her earlobe, making her tremble. "As long as I remember you're Scarlett Anderson." Then he instantly stepped back. It seemed like Alexander knew much more about Scarlett. The secrets were hidden from the world but not by him. Tears were at the edge of her eyes, threatening to fall. "Now go back. Don't forget to ask your manager to call my assistant and schedule an appointment with me." Scarlett bit her lower lip, thinking of all kinds of consequences. But grandma was important too. "Please..." She begged. "Now I don't care. If you'll excuse me, I've more important matters to deal with." Within a blink of an eye, Alexander walked away. Scarlett was left there alone, feeling more helpless than ever. Little did she know that two people were not too pleased to see her encounter with Alexander. Meanwhile, Scarlett wasn't going to give up either. She knew that she needed a plan. Then she spotted a less guarded gate. She was about to take a step ahead, but a voice stopped her. "What a slut you are!" Scarlett knitted her eyebrows together and turned around. It was Camilla. Her eyes were red. "Get the fuck out of my way," Scarlett said irritatedly. "So that you'll go and seduce Alexander Wilson," Camilla accused. Scarlett was stunned by her words. But she recovered from her accusations and walked past her hurriedly. "Scarlett, this isn't over. Stay away from Alexander. He doesn't deserve dirt like you," Camilla warned. Inside the hospital "Call Adrian," Alexander turned his head towards Lucas, his assistant. "Adrian, Scarlett Anderson's manager?" Lucas frowned. "Yes, ask him to take her away," he instructed. After working for him for the last five years, Lucas knew that Alexander had something in his mind. Something that was going to make Scarlett's life difficult in the coming days. She dared to go against the company's rules. Still, he wanted to sympathize with Scarlett. She was his girlfriend Maria's best friend. Still, they only met twice. "Mr. Wilson, how about I drop her until you're done meeting your grandfather?" Lucas lowered his head. His voice was barely above a whisper. Listening to that, Alexander stopped in his tracks. His eyes had something intense for a split second. When he looked at Lucas, the depth of his gaze was almost asking for death itself. "Lucas," Alexander called out his name. His tone was low and controlled. "Did you know it's the first time you tried to go against me?" Fear surged through Lucas's mind. His eyes dilated. He swallowed hard. "I just thought, it might help. With everything going on...." Before he could complete it, Alexander stopped him. "No Lucas, never suggest anything to me unless I ask you to. You understand that, right?" Lucas nodded, the intensity of Alexander's words settling over him. "Yes, I'm sorry, Mr. Wilson." After ten minutes Alexander entered Dr. Evans's cabin. His steps were heavy with anticipation. Dr. Brian Evans was the world's renowned cardiologist. He had been treating his grandfather for a decade. It wouldn't be wrong if he would say that he was more like a family to them. "Alexander," Dr. Evans took a deep breath and said in a low tone, "I want to talk to you about your grandfather's health." Alexander frowned. Before they could proceed, there was a sudden knock on the door. The next moment, a familiar figure entered. "Son," the man finally spoke. "What are you doing here?" Alexander asked through his gritted teeth. "Don't forget, the man lying behind those glass doors is my father," the stern voice echoed. "Mr. William," Alexander started but instantly cut off. "I'm your dad. Call me that." When Brian saw that tension was increasing in the air. He stood up and mumbled, "I called your dad." "How's my dad?" William asked in a terrified tone. "His condition has worsened. The treatments aren't working as we hoped. He doesn't have much time left," Brian informed in a gentle and stern voice. Alexander swallowed hard, feeling a lump form in his throat. "What do you mean by not much time left?" "It can either be days or weeks but..." Brian stopped, observing William's and Alexander's facial expressions. "But?" William hurriedly took a step ahead. "But his life span can increase if you'll make him happy," Brian was speaking in puzzles. "Straight to the point, Dr. Evans." Alexander raised his left eyebrow. "Fulfill his last wish, Alexander." Brian looked straight into his eyes. "He wants you to get married."
