Kelly’s POV
“She was shot and she’s pregnant. Please take care of her,” Pierce pleaded with the nurses when they gave us stretchers where Pierce gently laid me.
The doctor immediately attended us. My arm was bleeding heavily which scared Pierce more. He was pale when the doctors told him to stay outside the emergency room. I stared at him for a few seconds, giving him assurance that everything will be okay, before the door of the emergency room parted us completely.
I swallowed hard as I bit my bottom lip and endured the pain. I have to stay strong for the baby inside me. I won’t die here.
“We’ll put you to sleep and start the surgery now, Mrs. We have to stop the bleeding and repair the damaged tissue. Please trust us and pray in your sleep.”
I nodded at the kind doctor before she ordered one of the nurses to give me anesthesia.
