Austyn tossed the serviette onto the table, got up and left.

She went back to her dinner.
‘I’d better eat first. It’s going to be a long night. I’ll need my strength.’
Elsie came out of the kitchen. ‘Where’s Young Master? He didn’t finish his food.’
‘He went to the bathroom. Stomachache or something.’
Elsie didn’t look convinced.
Kira pushed back her chair. ‘I’m done. Elsie, thanks for dinner. I’m going upstairs.’
‘Oh, okay.’
Kira ran upstairs.
The door to the study was open.
The room was empty.
She went into the bedroom and heard the sound of running water
