Chapter 21 - Distraught
Elsa stood in the kitchen, her mind a thousand miles away. She stared blankly at the stove, where the pancakes she was making were now burning, the smoke alarm blaring in her ears.
She didn't even flinch.
If only she had never approached Jack that night at the bar. If only she had never met him. Maybe he wouldn't be lying in a coma right now.
Elsa hated herself for what happened, she was a threat to his life and now he wouldn't forgive her not after finding out who or what she was.
"Elsa?!"
Sarah, Jack's mom called out as she rushed into the kitchen, alarm etched on her face.
"Elsa, what's going on?! The smoke alarm...!"
Elsa snapped back to reality, her eyes focusing on the burning pancakes. Sarah quickly turned off the stove and opened the window, but the damage was done. The kitchen was filled with smoke and the acrid smell of burnt food which resulted in them coughing.
