The group had walked for more than two hours. The werewolves had unlimited stamina so their bodies didn't feel fatigued but August and Jack could feel their bodies giving out; begging the owners for the rest they deserved after being put through such inhumane treatment.
Luke turned at Jack, disdain was apparent in his eyes. Jack placed a hand on his knees, his back was hunched. He was breathing heavily and trying to relax himself.
"Remind me why again we brought these guys," Luke began, a twinge of disdain in his voice. "Since we started, they have done nothing but slow us down," he remarked, his sharp gaze, revealing his displeasure.
"Quiet, Luke," Alex answered, without shifting his gaze to his direction. His eyes turned from one corner to another. "It's not as if we can just directly get to the altar. There is no map to get there. The only thing the priest offered me were landmarks."
"I don't mean to sound like a grump but your heartbeat," Luke pointed out, the lines on his face
