CHAPTER 35: OFFICE AFFAIRS

RICK'S POV I sat at my desk, scrolling through emails and different files for a certain project. The day had gotten dark, and this was really exhausting. And then I heard a knock on my office door. Firstly, I was kind of shocked. Because everyone had left the building about an hour ago. So who was this person that had come to speak with me? Or perhaps, I was just imagining things. Yeah, that could be quite correct. I heard another knock, and I had to stop what I was doing, as I let out a sigh of slight frustration. I glanced at the door, and I heard a knock for the third time. Okay, this was definitely not me imagining things. “Come in,” I called out, and gave the files back my attention. The door opened, and Bethany was the one who walked in. I took a quick at her, before setting my eyes back on the files. My head seemed like it could explode any minute, and I hoped Bethany wasn't here to add to my problem. “Hey Rick,” she said, closing the door behind her. “Why are you here?“
