"The mentor for the dance section of 'Rising Talent' has withdrawn?" I raised my voice in frustration.
I had just arrived at the company in the afternoon when the secretary, Scarla Johnston, who had been waiting at the door, informed me of the issue.
And it was a frustrating one at that.
With less than a week until "Rising Talent" went live, I was deeply unsettled. I stormed toward the elevator.
"Yes, Mr. Wright."
Scarla followed behind, her high heels clicking on the floor.
"We had everything set, but Alexis Clark, the top star from Eclipse Entertainment, suddenly backed out. We didn't have a contract with her, so there's no way to hold her accountable."
"No contract?"
I stopped in my tracks as I found it incredulous.
"Who was responsible for this? Fire them immediately and have the legal department hold them accountable for this oversight."
I ran an entertainment company, and someone on my team had failed to take contracts seriously. How absurd!
