　　Tabitha's POV 　　What happened in the forest? 　　Obviously, Elena didn't just decide to bail on a whim. Someone must have approached her. 　　I was quite anxious, but I didn't dare to run out and chase after her. I was pregnant now, so it was safer for me to stay here. 　　Did Derek get shot? 　　Just as that thought crossed my mind, with a loud bang, a bullet zipped through the darkness, grazing past my cheek and embedding itself straight into the wardrobe behind me. 　　Startled, I completely froze, not daring to move an inch. 　　Just then, I saw a man on the hillside not far away.
