Chapter 97 - Valley of War
The battlefield was bathed in an unsettling orange glow as the sun hung low in the sky. On either side of the valley, the armies of Arcanis and Valtheon stood, each warrior standing in tense quiet, waiting for the cry of battle. The banners of both countries were raised high into the air by a chilly breeze that swept across the plain.
The earth underneath them appeared to shiver in preparation for the approaching carnage. The burden of responsibility weighed heavily on Kian's heart as he made his way through the Arcanis troops' ranks.
He had been sent to represent his father and the Arcanis pillars since he was Alpha Kaveh's eldest son. He felt as though he was approaching an impending storm with every step. He turned to look at his brothers, who were all braced for the worst, their eyes piercing with determination.
Although he was burdened by his father's absence, this was his time and his fight to take the lead as always.
