Chapter 43 - Trapped in Shackles
The dungeon was dark and concealed from the light of day, deep beneath the Silver Talon estate. The smell of rusty chains was subtle and metallic, and the air was heavy with dew. Cold and unforgiving, the walls absorbed every sound that ventured to reverberate inside the stone walls.
Nythara was sitting tied in one of the most remote cells, her wrists shackled to the walls by iron cuffs that shone dimly with enchantments designed to make her magic less effective.
Her body was weak from two days of malnutrition and starvation, and her throat was dry, but her soul was unwavering.
Hunger tore at her belly and thirst dried up her lips, making it difficult for her to keep track of time. Knowing that she had a task, one that was far more significant than her agony, was the only thing that kept her mind active.
There was a reason she had come here, but now she was the prisoner, and her captors were not giving up.
