The two sisters were weaving through the busy streets of Valtheon as the sun was starting to set, their arms full of market goods, bread, vegetables, and cloth for their mother's sewing.
The streets were packed, as the palace was getting ready to receive royal visitors from far-off places, and colorful banners fluttered in the breeze as guards kept the peace.
"Slow down," the older sister called as her younger sister ran ahead, her tiny feet kicking up dust as she went.
The younger one, with her wild curls bouncing, ignored her sister’s plea, laughing as she darted between sellers and bystander
“Can’t catch me!" She teased as she looked back at her, who was smiling but rolling her eyes.
A huge carriage rolled into view as they passed the grand fountain in the middle of town, its wheels clattered noisily on the cobblestone road, and the crest of Arcanis was painted on its side, the horses galloped steadily, but the uneven ride was caused by the cobbled streets.
