Chapter 24
When I woke up I didn’t recognise where I was. At least, not until Wendy leaned over me.
“What happened?” I asked, trying to sit up but she stopped me. I looked around the room and as more things started to come into focus I realized that I was in Wendy’s bedroom.
Confused and dazed I saw the tears rolling down Wendy’s face.
“You fainted at work. I didn’t know what was wrong with you.” She said.
“How did I end up here?” I asked as I heard someone else walking into the room.
“I brought you here. I saw you pass out and brought you to my house.” She said.
“How is she?” Wendy’s mother Darcy asked.
“She just woke up.” Wendy said, not leaving my side.
“You gave us quite a scare.” Darcy said.
“I’m so sorry.” I said, feeling so guilty for making them worry about me. I hated putting people out like this. I know that there’s a lot more important things that they should be doing than dealing with me.
“Don’t you dare apologize. It wasn’t your fault. Not after what the doctor said.” Darcy said.
