HAWKE'S POV
Arleigh Hawthorne collapsed on the floor. I crouched to check her pulse and realized she was still alive. Good. I really don't have time to deal with the Dillards' wrath.
The spell was successful. I knew I had done it successfully. I broke the link between my mother and Claire.
