Both Helen and Sheree leaned against the gazebo's pillar and drank water in big gulps without worrying about appearances. I took out a bottle of mineral water from my bag and opened it. The cool water soothed my throat, washing away most of my exhaustion.
Soon enough, the bottle was empty.
The guys still tried to tough it out and teased Sheree, saying she needed to train harder.
Helen tapped her finger lightly. "I thought there was an earthquake, but it turns out it was just your legs shaking."
The guys didn't mind the teasing. They scratched their heads with sheepish grins and burst out laughing. "Helen, you've got sharp eyes to catch that!"
The weariness and irritation from the heat melted away as I watched my colleagues joke around. This was exactly why I loved working here.
I held a mini fan to my face and took out a tissue with my left hand before passing it to Andy. "How much farther do we have?"
