The third anniversary event for the game was just around the corner, and everyone at the company was busy preparing for it.
My colleague, Rachel Sullivan, slumped back at her desk, carrying her laptop with a dejected expression. "The project proposal got rejected again."
I placed a small slice of cake on her desk to encourage her. "My ideas have been shot down a few times too. Let's keep pushing through."
Rachel thanked me with a long face, tugging at her hair as she adjusted her character model.
I took a sip of my coffee and rubbed my face, burying myself in work.
The company was taking this event seriously, so the requirements were exceptionally strict, almost to the point of nitpicking.
"Everyone, please pause for a moment."
The head of the art design department clapped his hands. "Come to C1 for a meeting."
