"Did my dad say anything to you? He's a bad guy. Don't take his words to heart," Jennifer said from the passenger seat, explaining to Fox.
As usual, Fox drove steadily.
"No, I think he’s a kind person," Fox replied, though Jennifer’s dad had said some pretty intense things.
"He loves you, and I love you. We’re on the same team, no need to be adversaries," Fox said with a relaxed smile. As they waited at a red light, he reached out to hold Jennifer’s hand.
"Saying such cheesy things early in the morning, Fox, you’re so corny," Jennifer said, poking Fox’s palm with her finger.
"Do you like it?" Fox asked.
"I do, say more," Jennifer replied with a playful grin.
She had become much more lively, unlike the cold, distant girl she used to be—a genius who had shown exceptional talent from a young age.
