"You reminded me. I almost forgot," Xander casually remarked as he finished the last piece of garlic bread.
He set down his cutleries and wiped his mouth with a napkin.
Samantha gave him a sly smile. Her eyes glinted with a different meaning as she pointed out, "Ha! I wonder who it was that acted like a dog last night and bit all over my neck."
Xander, who felt awkward at her blunt comment, rubbed his nose and replied, "That was yesterday. It's in the past and has nothing to do with today."
Samantha nearly burst into laughter at his lame excuse. "Ha! You're getting good at quibbling."
Ever since they got together, she started to realize that Xander's previously composed image was collapsing. In fact, it was just getting worse.
"You go wash the dishes. I need to do my makeup before we head out."
Xander checked the time and was puzzled. "It's still early. Why are you in such a hurry to put on makeup?"
