Esme insisted on taking Nolan and Ruby to the hospital in Jonesville for a checkup the next day. They found that Ruby's condition wasn't ideal, and the doctor recommended a few days of observation in the hospital. Esme immediately arranged for Ruby to stay in a VIP ward. To ensure Ruby was well cared for, Esme not only hired a caregiver to assist but also rented a house near the hospital. This gave Nolan a place to rest after looking after Ruby. Nolan and Ruby were deeply touched, though their hearts ached at the expense. They secretly tried to give Esme money, but she discreetly returned it. In the end, they decided not to bring it up again.
