Chapter 10
Isaiah took a deep breath and motioned for Eaton and the housekeepers to place the gifts on the nearby table. Once they had done so, Eaton and the others quietly left the room.
Isaiah stared at the pile of gifts, his mind clouded with darkness. Then, he noticed a piece of paper hidden under the stack of presents. As he pulled it out, he was about to toss it aside when the words suddenly caught his eye.
Esme's handwriting was neat and elegant, just like her—always calm and composed, no matter the challenge.
However, the paper had several holes punctured through it, as though it had been stabbed by a pen. On it were the details of his affair with Audrey—locations, times, and how often it had happened.
There were no other words from her, as if she had said everything that needed to be said. After reading the final word, Isaiah gripped the paper so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
Suddenly, his phone began to buzz uncontrollably. He answered it, and his assistant's frantic voic
