From every angle, Evelyn seemed to have been unfairly caught up in the mess.
When Evelyn and Cindy got home, they told Lucian about what had happened.
He listened quietly before saying to Evelyn, "You don't need to go tomorrow. This wasn't your fault in the first place. I'm Cindy's brother, so it's my responsibility if she's in the wrong. I'll take her to apologize."
"I'm not going!" Cindy shouted, her nose still red from crying. "It wasn't our fault to begin with. Why should we apologize? Sophie's just jealous because I got Ms. Monroe to come, and she couldn't. That's why she slandered her like that."
Evelyn chimed in, "I'm with Cindy on this one. Yes, we were wrong to throw the first punch, but the Richmond family isn't completely blameless, either. If there's going to be an apology, both sides should admit their mistakes equally."
