Sophia finally snapped out of her daze, her face turning as pale as a sheet. "Samuel…"
Samuel tugged the robe around himself, his expression unreadable. Awkwardly, he pushed himself upright and maneuvered back toward his wheelchair.
Sophia instinctively reached out to help him, but he brushed her hand aside with a firm motion. His voice was distant. "Thank you, but I can manage on my own."
He quickly adjusted his position, pressed the control button, and the wheelchair began rolling toward the door.
