“Strangers?” Stephanie took two steps back。 The word hurt her deeply。
Is there something more miserable for a mother than being taken as a stranger by her own child? But who was the one to blame? Though she didn’t want to keep this child at first, she had got no control of the things that happened after he was born。 She had been unable to leave the bed for two months after the child’s birth。
None of Stephanie and Liz gave in。 Looking at her child in Liz’s arms, Stephanie was anxious and angry, but she feared that taking him back by force would get him hurt。
Stephanie knew well about Liz’s nature。 She turned to look at Jack helplessly, which made him moved at bit。 Stephanie felt surprised, expecting what he was about to do。
In fact, Jack was angry too。 The word “strangers” also hurt him。
Seeing Jack approaching with a sullen look, Liz fell anxious but was still cherishing some hope deep inside her mind。 Nonetheless, such poor hope was ruined by the time Jack started speaking。
