Wren's scrutinizing gaze fixed on Alexander. If the danger Clara faced wasn't something she had invited herself, then it was highly likely that the people around her had dragged her into it.

Alexander froze for a couple of seconds before realizing that Wren suspected he had something to do with Clara falling into the water earlier that day.
