About ten minutes later, Zachary smoothly brought the car to a stop in a neighborhood.
After opening the door and stepping out, Julie turned to the car and politely thanked him, "Thank you for driving us back."
Zachary smiled faintly. "If you're really that grateful, Jules, maybe you could consider inviting me to dinner."
Julie's face showed a flicker of embarrassment, and she quickly explained, "Maybe next time. As you can see, Maya just went through a breakup, so I have to stay with her."
Amaya leaned in and pointed at a nearby spot. "Isn't that a late-night food stall? Shall we grab something to drink?"
Julie immediately waved her hands to dismiss the idea. "No way! He still has to drive back. How can he drink?"
Zachary responded without hesitation, "No worries. I can call for a driving service."
Julie sighed helplessly and silently lamented. "It's freezing cold. I really want to just go home and sleep."
