Austin's ears felt like they were bleeding from the ear-splitting sounds coming from the interior when his car came to a halt with a loud screech in front of the "King" Club. He didn't want to go into the club since he didn't like loud music, but when he remembered Vanessa was there with a man alongside her, he was intrigued and decided to go in. Inside the club, David was seated straight across the stage with a glass of whisky in his hands, and he was excited to see the Fiery Ice Band's performance as he heard Vanessa's friend's enticing speech earlier. Moreover, he wanted Austin to witness his ex-wife and see her in a new light as Vanessa appeared so charming all of a sudden right after her return. He himself was shell shocked when she saw the confidence oozing from her and the way she carried herself. He even wondered when did the timid, and obedient Vanessa, who almost never raised her voice, had turned out to be so dazzling and conquered everyone on her way as if she were a queen of this place. This new version of Vanessa was too blinding to the eyes, and he couldn't wait to see Austin's reaction! Furthermore, David believed Vanessa's acquaintance had exaggerated the Fiery Ice Band's importance and skillfully manipulated the audience's emotions. So he was looking forward to seeing them make a fool of themselves on stage! Because this club was known for its wealth, and the people who frequented it were all wealthy socialites. So impressing them wasn't easy, and he even felt The Fiery Ice Band was daydreaming when they made such bold claims in front of such a large and powerful crowd. David grimaced, thinking about how thick Vanessa's friend's skin had to be to announce so boldly without batting an eye! He snorted, eyeing the bass player, "Naivety at its pinnacle!" However, it didn't take long for David to choke on his words as soon as he heard the Fiery Ice Band start performing! The way the members were moving on the stage with musical instruments in their hands was too pleasing to the eye since they were all good looking and charming. To top it off, they had perfect synchronization of beat, and they clearly knew the amount of force they needed to use on their instruments to generate soulful music, and gosh! It was bewitching to the ears! David was too lost in the event happening in front of him and it made him reminisce about his earlier days when he was in his youthful years. Although he wasn't too old now, he had become more mature and couldn't behave impulsively as he did back then. When he was in college, he also had a dream of having his own band as he was a fan of music. Now, when he saw the group of five playing the recent hit song, which had become a national wide sensation, he was immersed in the music. The singer had a deep husky voice that sounded like it was made of honey, and it was hailed as a blessing! The bass player he had just scoffed at seemed to have transformed into someone else, and he must admit, her abilities were amazing, and he was impressed would be the least! However, they were not the most startling things to him. Because David was utterly astounded seeing Vanessa perform so effortlessly, yet, it appeared so magnificent as if it was a feast to both eyes and ears! He couldn't help but compare the image of Vanessa he had in his mind in the past three years of her married life, and he could only come up with submissive and polite. However, right at this instant, he was blown off of his feet when she was drumming on stage. Although she was in a simple white dress and wasn't giving off any seductive signals, she appeared too dazzling and could get the crowd's pulse racing with just a hand lift and a foot stamp. In the spur of the moment, he couldn't help but submit to his awe and mumbled under his breath, "Wow, this is incredible! Vanessa's drumming skills were unrivaled!" "If I could have met such a wonderful drummer like you back then, my band would definitely still be alive!" David mused as the notion occurred to him. David couldn't help himself but become passionate as he remembered his past and visualized himself in them when the band members were playing. A while later, Austin marched into the club and seated across David, but David was too lost on the stage and didn't even avert his eyes to greet Austin. Seeing David consumed by the music, a frown settled on Austin's cold yet handsome face and his eyes roamed across the club, but he couldn't find the woman he came for. Annoyed, he turned to David and patted his shoulder, "was Vanessa left already?" David squinted and tilted his head to see Austin and he snorted, eyeing the confused Austin. With a sigh, he gestured with his fingers, and Austin followed his line of sight when David added in his enthusiastic tone, "God! Are you bling, Austin? See the drummer!" When Austin's onyx pools landed on Vanessa's stunning figure seated on the stage with the colored lights focused on her, while her eyes were kept closed, he was baffled. He didn't know how to react to such a scene when David inquired with mockery, "Did you really divorce Vanessa?" Hearing his taunting remarks, Austin scoffed, "It's unlawful to falsify a divorce certificate." David stroked his beard and added with a grin, "alright then! From this moment onwards, Vanessa would be my new goddess." Listening to his words, Austin didn't pay any heed to them and focused on the woman who was immersed in the drums. At that moment when the spotlight was illuminating her silhouette, Vanessa was no longer as bland as she had been in the past. Her hands moved fast as if everyone in the room was kneeling down to her. She reigned supreme! Although Vanessa and Austin had been married for three years, he had never witnessed such a side of Vanessa's, and for a while, he didn't even understand how to react. Austin, who rarely loses his cool, stood there flabbergasted, eyeing the woman who was growing after her divorce with him, and the realization constricted his throat!
