Late at night, in the quiet hospital hallway, Emery was receiving an IV drip in the emergency room. Eric had been gone for a long time. Emery was on the bed, shivering. She thought she saw a shadow coming toward her. She murmured, "What took you so long, Eric?" When no response came, Emery forced herself to open her eyes. When she saw the familiar cold look, her eyes widened in shock. "Kieran? Why are you here?" Emery grew alert. She glanced around and realized the emergency room was empty. She was alone with Kieran. Emery frowned and mumbled in annoyance, "Why did you come?" "Who else were you hoping for?" Kieran loomed over her. "Are you disappointed to see me?" Emery's expression turned sour. She didn't have the energy to argue and glared at him before adjusting into a more comfortable position. She wanted to ignore him. To her surprise, Kieran suddenly crouched down. Emery was startled.
