Chapter 62 Owe Each Other Nothing
Dawn broke, and Kieran hadn't slept the entire night. He was still wearing the same clothes from the day before, and there were dark circles under his eyes.
He went downstairs tiredly and saw a maid running upstairs in panic. She bumped into him and got a fright when she saw his exhausted expression. She slapped her thigh before pointing at the main door.
"Mr. Carter, something bad has happened. Ms. Young has run away!" exclaimed the maid.
She was afraid that Kieran would put the blame on her, so she quickly added, "Don't worry, I've sent a few people to look for her!" She felt that Kieran and Emery were so strange.
"There's no need," said Kieran.
He brushed past the maid and said indifferently, "Let her go."
He reached the foot of the staircase and passed by the dining room. Perhaps the maids were in a panic because Emery was missing, but they hadn't cleared the food from the previous night.
