Chapter 6 Anna Is Pregnant

“Miss Blunt, you changed your expression so fast that it surprises me.” Calmly, I glanced at Anna, and I took my handbag as I was ready to leave for the Blake residence. Curtis was not going back, but there was no reason for me not to be there. Anna stopped me at the door, and she was not acting cute anymore because Curtis was not around. Hence, she gazed at me and uttered frigidly, “When are you going to sign the divorce papers?” Stunned, I looked at Anna and answered her, laughing, “Miss Blunt, as a mistress, are you really forcing me to get a divorce?” “You’re the mistress here!” It looked like she was not fond of being called a mistress. Then, Anna spoke with a dull expression, “Julia, if it wasn’t because of you, I would’ve been the owner of this villa and not you. Since Master Blake’s dead, no one can protect you and let you stay here now. If I were you, I’ll just sign the papers and leave with Curtis’ money.” “Unfortunately, you’re not me, Miss Blunt!” I refuted her coldly, ignoring her threatening gestures. I walked past her and strode down the stairs, ready to leave the villa. Aside from Curtis, no one in this world could hurt me with their words. Anna, who was used to getting compliments and respect from everybody, felt uneasy when I ignored her. Thus, she held onto me violently and shouted, “Julia, don’t you feel ashamed? Brother Curtis doesn’t love you, so why are you still bothering him?” I stared at Anna and replied to her calmly as I felt funny, “Since you know that he doesn’t love me, then what are you afraid of?” “You…” Anna’s face blushed quickly, and she could not utter a word for a moment. I got near Anna and sneered while whispering to her, “As for me clinging onto him...” While I was speaking, I softened my tone and said casually, “He’s a good man, so what do you think I’ll use him for?” “Don’t be shameless, Julia!” Anna was fuming. She could not care much about others as she raised her hands and tried to push me. The staircase was behind me, so instinctively, I moved my body and dodged away from her. However, I did not know that Anna was not standing properly, so she ended up falling down the stairs. “Argh…” An ear-piercing scream rang out in the living room. I was terrified, and I could not react for a moment. Suddenly, my body was pushed away by a cold aura... Curtis dashed down the stairs to check on Anna, who was lying on the ground. Anna curled up, and she was hugging her belly with a pallid face. She then said weakly, “The baby. My baby.” Blood started to spread, and it stained the carpet red. I was petrified. Was she… pregnant? Was it Curtis’ baby? “Brother Curtis, my baby, my baby…” Anna grabbed onto Curtis’ sleeve, and she repeatedly mentioned ‘baby’. Sweat gathered on Curtis’ forehead as his cold and calm face stiffened up. “Don’t worry about it. The baby will be fine.” Curtis comforted Anna, and he carried her as he strode out of the villa. However, after running for a few steps, Curtis halted all of a sudden. The man looked grumpy, and his dark eyes were glowing. I could even clearly feel the wrath that was hidden in his voice. “Julia, you’ll pay for it.” It was just a few weightless words. However, indifference, hatred, and anger were all included in it. I stood there blankly as I did not know what to do at that moment! “You’re not planning to explain to him?” A raspy voice came from behind. I was shocked as I raised my eyes just to realize it was Edward. I did not know when he followed us. After suppressing my nervousness, I answered Edward calmly, “Explain what?” Edward scowled. “Aren’t you afraid that he would misunderstand you for pushing Anna?” I lowered my gaze, and I felt a little agonizing as I replied to him, “It’s not important at all. The thing is, Anna is hurt. Someone will need to bear this responsibility, after all.” “You’re really open-minded!” Edward strode down the stairs with his medical kit and left the villa as well. It seemed like Edward was going to follow them to the hospital to check on Anna too.
