Chapter 2
A small front desk can make things difficult for her like this. For three years, the receptionist didn't call her Mrs. Xu. She didn't think too much about it. After all, she knew that Leonard didn't care for her at all.
Suzy lowered her eyebrows and chuckled lightly. "Qianxing's employee training is really not good. Why would Mr. Xu's wife need to make an appointment to see her husband? I am his wife, and I will see my husband whenever I want."
As she spoke, she glanced at the receptionist coldly, then stepped on her high heels and sauntered directly to the elevator.
It was the first time that the receptionist saw Suzy like this, and she was stunned for a while. However, she was afraid that Suzy's sudden visit might cause problems, so she quickly called the office of Leonard Xu to inform him.
Before Suzy could arrive, Leonard already knew that she was coming.
He frowned, and said, "No."
He was going to have a short meeting in five minutes.
The secretary left in response, and as soon as he came out of the office, he saw Suzy walking in high heels.
Suzy wore a half-length floral dress today, looking gentle and dignified. He didn't know why, but when he looked over, the secretary felt that Suzy was different today.
"Secretary Liang."
Suzy took the initiative to say hello, and without waiting for the other person to speak, she raised her hand and pushed open the door of Leonard's office. "Excuse me, Mr. Xu, I have here an agreement that requires your signature."
As she said this, she walked over to meet the cold eyes of the man behind the desk, raised her hand and put the divorce agreement on her hand directly in front of him. "Sign it."
Leonard was quiet, the air in the office was suddenly heavy.
After a moment of silence, Suzy just shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I won't bother you anymore, Mr. Xu. I'll just see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau, nine o'clock on Monday morning."
After she finished speaking, she raised her hand to tuck the loose strands of hair on her face and put it behind her ear. Before leaving, she hesitantly said, "Leonard, congratulations, you're finally free of me."
Suzy looked at him and smiled.
"Suzy, what tricks are you playing again?"
This time Leonard finally spoke up.
Suzy glanced at him, "Don't worry, this time, it's true, but I also want to tell you that this is your only and last chance to get rid of me, so you must cherish it."
Suzy's eyes were a little hot but she didn't want to lose her dignity. She would never shed tears in front of him to give him a bargaining chip, so she quickly clicked her high heels to turn around and left.
Leonard watched her walk away until the person disappeared from his view. He reached out and flipped the divorce agreement before him.
This divorce agreement was drafted by Suzy's lawyer. The entire divorce agreement didn't mention any division of properties nor assets. It was safe to assume that she had completely gone out of the house, too.
He was not surprised that Suzy wanted to get a divorce. After three years, he hadn't regarded her as his wife at all.
But Leonard found it hard to believe that she didn't want anything for the divorce.
He knew Suzy has always been ambitious. When she saved Quinie, the Xu family asked her what she wanted in return. When she opened her mouth, she said she wanted to marry him.
It was a pity that she miscalculated because he had already done a notarization of the property long before the marriage, so that one day, when it came to it, he'd be able to get rid of her smoothly.
Leonard was convinced that she was just playing a trick.
He sneered at the corner of his mouth, raised his hand and threw the divorce agreement aside, not taking it seriously.
When Suzy walked out of the building, Yuna's sports car was very dazzling that it instantly caught her attention.
As soon as Suzy walked over, Yuna opened the door of the passenger seat. "How did it go? Did he sign it?"
She sat down. "He didn't."
"Isn't Zara back? Why isn't Leonard in a hurry?"
After Suzy fastened her seat belt, she glanced at her. "Suzy, do you really mean it this time?"
When Suzy opened her mouth and closed it as soon as she did. If it weren't for more than ten years of friendship, Yuna wouldn't have seen through her immediately.
Yuna carefully thought her next words as she touched her nose bitterly. "It's just that, it's my first time to see a person getting a divorce so excited. This is not to test whether you are really giving up or you're just sulking, right?"
"I'm serious, Yuna!"
Suzy didn't want to pay attention to the gloating woman next to her anymore, so she closed her eyes and automatically blocked everything.
Half an hour later, the sports car stopped, Suzy opened her eyes and unfastened her seat belt. "Thanks."
She got out of the car as she spoke, walked around to the back and lifted the suitcase.
Yuna sat in the car and blew her two kisses. "Don't cry secretly, Suzy. Love you."
As soon as she finished speaking, the red sports car went away with a "zoom."
Suzy laughed, amused at the kind of friend she had.
