I turned around. Through the car window, I saw Zane's face—dark and brooding.
Strange. Didn't he leave with Callie? Why did he look so upset? Did they have a fight?
As I was pondering this, Channing suddenly smiled at me. "Ari, Zane is calling for you. Why don't you ride with him?"
I glanced at Darcy, who was passed out drunk, and made a quick decision. "No, it's fine. I'll ride with you."
"Oh…" Channing chuckled. With a hint of mischief in his voice, he said, "Alright, then hop in."
I started to get in the car when another honk sounded from behind me—louder and more insistent this time.
Frowning, I turned to Channing and asked, "What does he want?"
Channing stifled a laugh. "Who knows? Maybe he's lost it."
After a pause, he added, "Just get in. Once you're with me, he'll stop acting crazy."
