Chapter 623
Andrew had fought so hard for Melina to stay, but having her so close to him still felt a bit unreal.
He kept pedaling slowly, with Melina perched behind him, hugging his waist. Gradually, he relaxed, feeling a kind of peace he had never experienced before.
At some point, a faint smile crept onto his lips, and not even the darkness of the night could hide his joy.
Catching the night breeze, he said softly, "Angel, the moment I walked out of that basement, I had a thought. I wanted to pretend I was still not back to normal. That way, you wouldn't leave."

"Because I don't want to lie to you anymore, for any reason."
Melina's arms tightened around him. Over the past few days, she had learned that Andrew had deep psychological scars. His behavior and the hostility he'd shown when they'd first met had stemmed from those awful experiences.
She figured that since they were no longer going to get divorced, she should help Andrew adjust his mindset.
