However, no one approached to confront Andrew, even as he entered the memorial hall.
"Looks like I'm not too late," Andrew murmured. He then calmly picked up three candles from the table and lit them.
Just as he was about to place the candles in the holder, a deep voice suddenly echoed from behind him. "Sir, I must ask you to leave. It's late, and we don't receive visitors at this hour in the Dempsey Town."
As the words fell, a gust of wind swept through the memorial hall, causing the candle Andrew had lit to go out.
Andrew turned to face the voice and saw an elderly man, probably in his 50s, slowly approaching him. Behind the man were five or six younger, burly men. These were the ones who had been following him. Andrew had sensed their eyes on him since he entered the town.
Despite the situation, Andrew remained composed and smiled. "I'm not here to pay respects. I've come to check on my eternal flame."
