"You finally got friends and now you are going on vacation with them," my mom's eyes squinted. "I feel like you are moving to normal life from your abnormal life, and this is what I wanted, Lily!" A smile played on her lips.
Her reaction was more dramatic than her high-society parties. I was never an abnormal girl but according to my mother, being different from others was like being abnormal.
