Chapter 17

Liliana's pov : "What? Had lunch together? Oh my goodness! And you guys are project partners?" Fee fluttered her eyes, "Lia, I can't digest so many things in just one shot," and she released the air from her mouth. I rolled my eyes, "forget it! You'll be my project partner, right?" Suddenly her eyes twinkled with a sense that she forgot something, and now, she just caught it, "wait, the girl who has no friends except me, and the boy who has no female friends except her sister meet at the restaurant and eat lunch together. Isn't it what normal people call a date?" She emphasized the word 'date'. First, school bimbos, then, Emily, and now, Fiona! All the girls have nothing to do but question my and Jason's relationship and for god's sake, we are not even friends. "Fee, I'm already tired of the words 'girlfriend', 'boyfriend', 'date', etc, can you please stop this?" I grimaced. Finally, John came with the burgers! I was starving. And as the aroma of cheese and garlic met my nose, my hunger was doubled. "Look, I'm not judging you but trying to be honest with you! You guys are so different yet similar, the world will tell you your differences but I will tell you your similarities," she had a serious complexion. Fee is crazy, everyone was thinking that I got lucky because the handsome hunk chose me as his girlfriend, and they were showing pity on Jason that he has got a bitch and weird girl who doesn't deserve him while she is telling me that we still have similarities. "What the fuck! How can we have something in common? He wears branded clothes while I don't give a damn about what I wear, he has got his bike while I travel into a bus which I'm not ashamed of. He will not like a girl like me who hasn't gone to the salon yet, who doesn't wear decent clothes, who doesn't wear make-up, who doesn't like partying, I'm an uneducated child in all this stuff which is mandatory in this world." I loosened the weight of my chest, at least I've got Fee, with whom I can talk without being judged. She started snickering as I've made some hilarious jokes, "and you say that you don't like him," she stopped between her laugh and again started giggling. And here, I have a face-off with reality. No one knew that I was neglecting some thoughts which people describe as feelings. So, yeah! I had some unfamiliar or strange feelings in my head. Please, don't expect me to be sick of love! I still believe that the heart doesn't invent feelings, it comes from the mind as thoughts. Now, it's time to be honest with Fee because honesty is something that should be the base of the friendship. Fee took my hands into her, "Lia, you remember that day when I asked you if you like him or not, I knew from that day that you are attracted to him." She released my palms, and I took a bite of burger, "attract? What is this? I'm attracted to only one thing and that is food," I showed her the burger and took one more bite. "You know, I watch rom-com movies and read romantic novels, I know it better than you. I have known you for the past three months, do you remember the girl who was getting bullied by a guy? And you did beat that guy so hard that his face was bleeding and his hands were around his dick," she chortled again. I signalled her to eat burgers because food should be a priority, gossip can be done later, too. "Yes, I remember! That girl was shivering from fear, and I taught her how to kick at a guy's weak point," I spoke with a mouthful of burger. Fee stood up after taking a burger in her hands, "I was that girl whom you helped, and I didn't know that we study in the same school until I noticed you on the bus the next day but I never thought that you would belong to such a prosperous family because you were too humble to be recognized as that one," she was gazing at the sunset. "This day is full of surprises for me. First, I didn't know that Jason is my senior, then, I gotta know that you are also my senior, and classmate of Jason. And lastly, you tell me that you have known me for the past three months, the world is so small, isn't it?" Her eyes darted on me, and a beautiful smile played on her lips, "yes, the world is so small. That's why I'm telling you that you are attracted to Jason. To be honest, I don't know if it's just an attraction or you have feelings for him because I can't get what is running into your mind and heart but it seems like a love story to me." She continued, "maybe it's your destiny to meet him and fall for him. I know you don't believe in love and all but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist," she chewed the burger. That's what I like about this girl, she knows what to say, how to say, and she is a crystal hearted girl. She knows me better than anybody else, and I guess, she also understands me very well that I don't need to explain much to her. She is always right about everything, I can always count on her for anything. I just say one word, and she gets the whole sentence perfectly. Liliana Watson is someone who can describe everything but she fails to explain her thoughts, her feelings, and her points. My world has been revolving around the syllabus books only since childhood. I don't know how people act with their friends, there are so many things that I want to do but I'm focusing on my career only. Somewhere I had a gut feeling that Fee was correct, even if I don't believe in this thing but this exists. "Uh, I don't know much about love, attraction, and feelings but as far as I can tell what you just said was convincing to me," I finally dared to be honest. She gawked at me with wide eyes, "I didn't feel that you'll be convinced this soon," she grinned, "well, I like your honesty. I'll tell you the symptoms of love. If you think about him a lot, and before getting sleep, if his face comes across your eyes or his words echoes in your mind and ears, and all these things make you smile like a stupid, then," she paused and raised her eyebrows, "you are falling for him." I was lurking all the things that Fiona just said, I was thinking about him a lot nowadays and without any reason, I was simpering like a fool. I gathered some courage and asked, "what's about attraction? I've heard that the attraction is not love, right?" "People say so but I don't think so," she shrugged her shoulders, "if you are not attracted to the person, you can't fall for that person. I believe that just attraction is not love but attraction is important and a phase of love." I didn't get this attraction, "explain it, I'm a nerd." She smiled genuinely, "you are not a nerd, okay?" I nodded and she accepted the job of my teacher, "usually people decipher lust as an attraction which I completely don't agree with, attraction is like a person's excellence in something. Sometimes a girl gets attracted to the way a boy speaks or talks, sometimes a girl is attracted to a boy's eyes that she wants to stare at those eyes and want to find some kind of treasure." I took a big gulp of juice, and handed her the glass of juice, she took a sip from it. "Sometimes you don't even know particularly what you like about someone but you keep thinking about that person. In attraction also, you think about that person a lot but you don't smile like a kid or a maniac when you think about that one," she was opening her thoughts with me and I was silently listening to her. "It's just like that you get attracted easily but you don't fall for someone that easily and shortly. Love takes time, attraction doesn't take much time. Love, at first sight, isn't love actually, it's attraction. You know, it's easy to open up with you because if I would have told someone else that love at first sight is not love, the person would have started having a debate with me," she let out a chuckle. "I'm not saying what I think is the actual thing, it's just that according to me, love is not easy to find, easy to do, easy to understand, and easy to get. It's just according to my vision, different people have a different vision. So, we just should try to perceive others' visions, we shouldn't fight with each other like bitches that you are wrong, and I'm right," she rolled her eyes and finished the juice. Whatever she said was so simple that I got everything clearly in my head, "thank you, teacher, for explaining this to me!" I bowed my head and she slapped my arm. My arm is strong enough not to get hurt by just a silly slap though I didn't miss the chance to be a drama queen, "ouch!" We both giggled. "Listen, if you ever get in any fight or debate, I'm just one call away, okay? I'll beat them so hard that they will never think of messing with you again," I stated and she just nodded with a pretty smile on her face. "You are my boyfriend, right? I'm just one call away…" she mimicked me and cackled, "usually boyfriends say this line to their girlfriends in movies but you don't watch rom-coms. So, how would you know? Haha…!" I actually didn't know that, "by the way, what's about watching a movie? We have television there," I indicated towards the opposite side of the garden. She got excited, "Let's go! This time…." I interrupted her, "no! This time a fantasy movie or action movie," I bounced my arms in the air. We discussed a lot of movies and ended up watching Harry Potter, it was better than any rom-com movie.
