Meanwhile, back at the Donovan residence, even while pretending to be drunk, Grace could still sense every detail of how effortlessly Adrian cared for her.
It was as if he had done it a thousand times before.
She only opened her eyes after he finally left the room.
After some time, he still hadn't come back to their bedroom after leaving her there.
Grace knew Adrian cared about her—she could feel it. But at the same time, he kept pushing her away, refusing to let her get too close.
There was a wall between them—a wall named Jesse.
Just as she was lost in thought, footsteps echoed outside the door. She hurriedly lay back down.
