Feeling a little off-balance, Mavis had to wrap her arms around his neck to steady herself.
"Sit down. Just watch us work from the sidelines."
Mavis was clearly displeased and retorted, "That's what you think. Please don't project your views on me."
"It's just a suggestion for pregnant women," Nathaniel tried to justify.
"I don't accept that suggestion."
"It's alright. You'll come around. The work is secondary. You and the baby's safety are the top priority."
Mavis thought he was still as domineering as ever, and her irritation grew.
"Nathaniel, didn't I make myself clear yesterday? I have a new man now. Shouldn't you be keeping your distance from me?"
Nathaniel's brow furrowed slightly, and his jawline tensed as he replied coldly, "We're legally married. If anyone needs to keep their distance, it should be that so-called new man of yours."
His logic was hard to argue with.
Mavis was too tired to continue the discussion.
He bent down, gently placing her in a chair
