CHAPTER 63: THE ILLUSION
"He is right," Shirley said, facing Dahlia,
"I don't want to get tricked by you."
"You have to taste anything you give me to drink before I drink it."
"Do you have another drink?" Drakon asked.
"Well, thankfully, I made another batch," Dahlia said, trying to hide her irritation.
Drakon paced the room, his footsteps echoing off the walls. As he turned to Shirley
"Shirley, this is madness," Drakon muttered, glancing over at his Luna, who sat serenely on the leather armchair, her hands folded in her lap. Her calm demeanor only served to heighten his frustration. "We barely know anything about this woman, and you want to let her meddle with your gifts?"
Shirley met his gaze with a steady, unwavering look. "Drakon, we've tried everything else, and now my life is at risk because of it. If Dahlia thinks she can help, we must give her a chance."
