CHAPTER 189: THE BURDEN OF KNOWING
Nyx stood back so Shirley could inspect herself in the mirror, turning this way and that with a slight frown.
"I think I lost weight," she muttered, her gaze on her chest.
"You've been under much stress, my lady," Nyx began carefully. "It's only natural that you weigh slightly less than before."
Shirley huffed a breath, then turned to face her, "At least you are not lying or trying to convince me I'm wrong."
"I'd never lie to you, my lady," Nyx replied brightly. "Is there something you'd like to have as breakfast this morning?" She asked, and her mistress nodded.
"Tell the kitchen I'll have more eggs and bread, please, and some more yogurt."
Nyx bowed and turned towards the door, then paused and spun to face Shirley again. "My lady, I just wanted to tell you that you look amazing regardless."
Shirley's smiling smile was radiant and genuine. "Thank you so much," she muttered as she moved to hug Nyx.
A knock rang out just before the door burst open, and Drakon's tall figure strod
