CHAPTER 157: NO LONGER SAFE
Shirley finally got back to the pack. She was exhausted and anxious. Ever since she escaped the snake in the pit, she'd been running as if something dangerous was on her tail. She could relax because even though the mage wasn't after her, she knew she had to return to the pack in time so that Drakon could be revived. It was important for the pack's safety and settling the council's worries.
When Shriley went through the gate, she noticed the atmosphere was strange. At first, she hadn't paid attention to it because of her haste, but when she looked carefully, she saw everyone rushing as if they were being watched. People had this downcast expression, and the pack soldiers stood uneasily, but no one checked anyone who passed the gate.
Shirley wondered when the gates had been thrown open so liberally. She didn't give much thought to it. She just hoped the news about Drakon hadn't gotten and affected everything she'd fought to protect.
