CHAPTER 113: A WINDY TURN
Shirley sat up and made to stand from the bed when Drakon's hand latched onto her brace.
"Where are you going?" He drawled, his voice deep and guttural with sleep.
"I thought you were asleep," she whispered, and he yawned before opening his eyes to look at her. "I was, but then I felt you move."
"Well, I'm just going to Trinkle; I'll be back soon."
He shook his head as he sat up with his fingers still around her hand.
"I'll go with you,"
"Alright then," she agreed with a small laugh.
He stood there while she did her business, and for some reason, it felt comforting.
"Any response from the mage yet?"
"Not one," he replied, "at least none that I know of."
She rinsed out her hands and walked up to him with an assuring smile.
"Perhaps he's still taking his time? He might think we plan to do him harm."
"Hmm," he hummed as his hands slid around his waist, and her lips turned up to him in silent invitation.
"He has every reason to think we would harm him because of what he's done
