Chapter 80: You Know What I'm Thinking
It didn't take long for Sean Williams to track down Derek Drayton. Anticipating the visit, Derek was on his guard—Sean was far more formidable than Dustin, after all.
"Mr. Williams, what brings you here?" Derek asked, pouring a cup of tea for his guest with a measured calmness.
"Derek Drayton, let's not play dumb. You know exactly why I'm here. You beat my brother to a pulp; you think no one would find out?" Sean's voice was tinged with a frosty edge.
Derek let out a scoff. "Yes, I did strike your brother, but he asked for it. He offered me a million to cross Zane Lee. When I refused, he threatened to use The Williams’ influence to crush me. What was I supposed to do?"
"Looks like you've forgotten our previous conversations, Derek. And now, you're nothing but Zane Lee's lapdog!" Sean's tone was dripping with disdain.
"Derek Drayton, watch your words," Derek snapped back, his face turning stormy. "Don't think that just because you're a Williams, I'll cower before you!"
