Chapter 60: That Was the Past
Once the guards had exited, Henry Carson's gaze landed on the bound figures before him. His eyes finally settled on a man with a crew cut, clearly the leader of the captured group.
"Are you men from The Williams?" Carson inquired, his voice carrying a weight that commanded attention.
The crew-cut man, despite his precarious situation, responded with a defiant tone, "You might as well kill us because you're not getting a single word from us."
Carson admired the man's grit. "You must be quite skilled," he observed with an edge of respect.
The man sneered back, "Dealing with you would take but a minute."
Zane Lee, overhearing the exchange, lost his cool, "You're courting death, disrespecting my brother like that."
Carson interrupted the brewing conflict with a chuckle. "I like your spirit." He signaled to Zane, "Untie him."
As the man regained his freedom, Carson challenged him, "Loosen up. If you can beat me, I'll release you and your brothers. If not, we'll talk."
