Chapter 17: The Big Shake-Up

As the car door swung open, out stepped a stunning woman in a sharp business suit, her heels clicking with authority. It was Susan Fu, the Deputy Director of Royal Entertainment Media Group. She’d received word that the Chairman would be arriving early this morning, so she came ahead to welcome him. But as soon as she alighted, she noticed a commotion at the entrance — the security was in a heated argument with a man, even pushing him. "What’s going on here?" Susan quickly intervened. "Ma'am, this man tried to apply for a job here, but Manager Fu from HR told us to get him out," one of the guards explained, saluting Susan. Susan's gaze landed on Henry, and as their eyes met, a flash of recognition swept across her face, quickly replaced by a controlled surprise. "Good morning, Chairman," she greeted, with a deferential bow. The guards, dumbstruck, finally realized they had been trying to oust the new Chairman of their company. "Ch...Chairman, our apologies!" They stuttered, nearly tripping over themselves. "Seems like Royal Entertainment needs a restructuring," Henry remarked, his gaze scrutinizing Susan, who indeed looked every bit the competent professional she was. Without waiting for her response, he turned and began walking into the building. Susan paused, gathering her thoughts, and whispered to herself, "So he's the young master of The Carson." "Got everything you need to know?" Henry inquired as soon as they entered his office. "All briefed by Mr. Yan," Susan confirmed. "Good. Remember what I told you. No unnecessary contact, and my identity..." "Chairman, Mr. Yan has made everything clear. You have my word," Susan reassured. "Alright. There are two main things now — first, the company needs a complete overhaul. Second, if anyone from The Mitchell tries to negotiate any deal, refuse them outright. Tell them unless it's Sophie Mitchell, there’s no point discussing." Henry stood up, ready to leave. But as he reached the door, he turned back, adding, "Remember, Sophie Mitchell is my wife. You know what to say when the time comes." Upon leaving the company, Henry’s phone rang — it was Sophie. "Where did you dash off to so early?" "Just went for a morning workout," he replied. "Since when did you pick up that habit? Look, I’m heading out with Lily Turner for shopping. Coming?" Sophie asked, a hint of coldness in her voice. "Ah, you girls go ahead. Buy whatever you fancy," Henry declined. Sophie hung up, a tad disappointed. She had hoped Henry would accompany her, especially since they were ousted from The Mitchell family. But she never expressed her feelings directly to him. ... Meanwhile, with Ella Mitchell and Theo Roberts' arrests, The Carson family was abuzz with anxiety. Especially Ella's mother, Amanda Mitchell, who was now tearfully pleading with Joseph Mitchell. "Dad, please do something! Ella got arrested because she was trying to help the family!" she sobbed. Joseph, already irate, slammed his fist on the table. "Enough!" he bellowed. "Did you not hear what the police said? This fake cosmetics fiasco is Ella and Theo’s doing! If this turns out to be true, it's not just Ella — you and your husband will also be out of The Mitchell!" “Dad, you can’t possibly believe this! How could your granddaughter frame our family? And as for Theo Roberts, don’t you know about his background? He wouldn’t do this. I am certain that all this is the doing of Henry and Sophie Mitchell. They're just green with envy and are trying to pin this on Ella,” Daniel Mitchell quickly defended to Joseph Mitchell. Joseph, blinded by rage, was fully aware of the Roberts' situation. At this point, for The Mitchell to advance, they must rely on The Roberts. His immediate concern was to use all connections to rescue Theo Roberts and Ella Mitchell from this mess. "This Sophie, ever since she brought that worthless son-in-law into our family, she’s turned her back on us. Once Ella and the rest are free, I'll teach them a lesson they won’t forget,” Joseph fumed. Amanda Mitchell chimed in, “It’s all Sophie’s doing. Exiling them from the family is too kind. We should banish them for good, ensuring they never claim association with The Mitchell. Plus, we should pull every string to make their lives miserable in King City.” Joseph coolly replied, “I'll consider it. For now, let's get them out.” In the end, The Mitchell mobilized every contact they had to get Theo Roberts and Ella Mitchell released. Surprisingly, throughout this ordeal, The Roberts remained silent, raising Theo's concerns, especially as his father had strictly warned him against associating with Ella. When Theo returned home, he was immediately met with a flurry of blows from his father. “Dad, why are you hitting me?!” Theo exclaimed, shielding his face. "Hit you?" Gerard Roberts roared from his chair, "I’ve half a mind to kill you! How many times did I tell you to stay away from that Mitchell girl?!” "Dad, Ella's a good person…" "Good for nothing, more like! She’s just a vain, superficial girl. If you continue down this path, you’ll be the death of me. And keep your eyes open, stop making a mess outside!" "I... I understand, Dad. But can you lend me 10 million? I overspent hosting The Mitchell,” Theo hesitated. On hearing the amount, Gerard’s face turned a shade of green, grabbing an ashtray, he hurled it at Theo. “You wasteful brat! Today, I’ll beat some sense into you.” After the severe beating, Theo, with a bruised face, left home, vowing to pin all of today’s humiliations on Henry and Sophie Mitchell. … At Royal Entertainment Media Group, following Henry’s orders, Susan immediately initiated a major reshuffle in the company, starting with Chloe Foster. The reasons Susan provided mirrored what Henry had conveyed, adding to Chloe’s frustration. Hearing Chloe’s ordeal, Mason Campbell's face twisted in rage. "Don't worry, honey. We may not take on Royal Entertainment Media Group, but can’t we handle a pathetic son-in-law?” “I have a way to deal with Henry and Sophie Mitchell once and for all,” Chloe said with a sly gleam in her eyes.
