Chapter 20 Clinging to a Lifeline
After a night of rest, Evelyn had thought about things clearly. This was her first time in Kingsbridge, and she was unfamiliar with the place. She was also without qualifications or connections. She was just a single pretty lady from another place.
If she relied on luck alone to find a job, she might escape one trap only to fall right into another.
After all, in this novel, the luck of the female antagonist was horrible. Instead of wandering around, she decided it was better to swallow her pride and seek out her grandfather's old comrade.
She didn't expect him to take care of her lodging or find her a job, but if he could point her in the right direction, it would save her from blindly stumbling around.
Once she left the hostel, she stopped by a nearby post kiosk and spent a dime on a map of Kingsbridge. She also decided to ask the vendor for directions.
She followed the map and arrived at the entrance of the Air Force Base Housing by 9:00 am.
